Arsenal are ‘on alert’ over Sebastian Corchia after a bid was rejected for the player by Sochaux, according to reports.
French media claim Lille made an offer to sign the player, but have been rebuffed by their domestic rivals.
And, TalkSPORT reports that the speculation could tempt Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger back into a move for the player, having initially been linked with Corchia in the summer.
A move would certainly make sense for the Gunners, who are set to lose Bacary Sagna for nothing at the end of the season as his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires.
The 23-year-old would be a like-for-like replacement at Arsenal if he were to make the move, and Corchia would join a number of compatriots in the first team under Wenger.
Another Premier League team to be linked with Corchia is Tottenham Hotspur, with reports in Goal.com a fortnight ago claiming he was in the sights of both north London clubs.
Spurs have slightly more stability at right back, with Kyle Walker a first-team regular and Kyle Naughton offering support from the bench.
Corchia would provide even more competition if Tim Sherwood managed to bring him to White Hart Lane in the transfer window, but his arrival would cast doubt over the future of one of the aforementioned duo at Tottenham Hotspur.
