Boston Celtics point-guard Rajon Rondo has revealed that he has no deep rooted rivalry with the Miami Heat… because he doesn’t like any team that he plays against.
The brash NBA star, who has a history rich with on-court incidents and run ins with opponents, was quoted by his franchise’s Twitter account as having admitted that he did not the Miami Heat, but that there was no special hatred born towards them.
Rondo’s Celtics face the reigning NBA champions tonight in what will be the third game of his season, following his recovery from ACL surgery.
And though many are billing the fixture as a momentous occasion, Rondo has dispelled suggestions that it is anything more than a usual fixture in his mind, stating that he never likes his opposition regardless of the motivation to play them.
The Boston Celtics official Twitter account tweeted: “Rajon Rondo on playing against the Heat: "It's not a rivalry but I still don't like those guys. I don't really like anyone I play against."
The Celtics currently sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference in the NBA with a record of 14-28. That pales in comparison to the Heat, who sit behind only the Indiana Pacers with a record of 29-12.
