Dutch international Ron Vlaar is happy to see striker Christian Benteke regain his form as Aston Villa battle to stay in the Premier League.
Benteke has scored two goals in Aston Villa's last two games, scoring against Arsenal in their 2-1 defeat and against Liverpool in Villa's superb 2-2 draw on Saturday evening.
The Belgian's header against Arsenal was his first goal since September, ending an 11-game run without a goal in the Premier League.
Villa captain Ron Vlaar is pleased that the big striker is hitting the net again after having such a goal drought.
"It is good that Christian is scoring again," he told the club's official website in an interview that was quoted by Goal.com.
"It has not been easy for him the last few months but he scored against Arsenal and he scored again on Saturday so it is starting to come to him again now.
"It is really important for the team as well."
The 23-year-old has scored six goals this season so far but will need to pick up the pace if he is going to score as many as he did last season.
Benteke netted 19 times in 34 appearances in the Premier League last year and was Villa's top goal scorer.
The Midlands side may have struggled to stay in the top division if he wasn't playing for them.
The draw with Liverpool at Anfield moved Villa into 10th place but they are only six points above the relegation zone, with five teams ready to go above them if they slip up next week when they play their local rivals West Brom.
