Crisis. This word can be heard being rang all around the stands at Old Trafford, but in my view Manchester United aren’t in crisis - it’s simply a bad patch.
I believe the reason why United fans are angry is because the club has set such huge expectations for themselves that even if they finish second, fans will be upset.
The appointment of David Moyes wouldn’t have been my personal choice but, given time, Moyes will come good. He’s not a world-class coach but he is a very good coach, something evident from what he did with Everton.
The one issue I have with Moyes is his transfer policy. He should be more willing to spend to bring in great players. The Marouane Fellaini deal should have been done earlier.
This is a bad season for United but it happens in football, you win some and you lose some but in fairness, whether it was Moyes or Jose Mourinho it would have been hard for anyone to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.
If Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney stay fit and they bring in some world-class midfielders and possibly a defender or two, I firmly believe Manchester United will be back to form.
Players who could possibly help United back to the top are Adnan Januzai and Nick Powell. Though Powell is still adjusting, he does have the potential to become the next Paul Scholes and the talent is plain to see. So is there a crisis? No, not at all.
