Huzzah, the transfer window appears to finally be about to kick into life following the emergence of reports that Manchester United are hoping to recruit Juan Mata from Chelsea before the deadline.

Mata is unsettled at Stamford Bridge having started only half of the club's league games this season, while he has failed to feature since New Year's Day, it things hardly seem set to improve for the Spaniard before the end of the campaign.

Manchester United, themselves in need of a creative midfielder of some repute, have identified the 25-year-old as a potential acquisition although would have to part with a sizeable fee were they to bring him to Old Trafford.

It would, in fact, take a club record deal were Manchester United to complete the transfer of Mata and it could create something of a domino effect the market over the coming months.
