Belgium midfielder Steven Defour could end up in England before the transfer window closes, according to his agent, boosting Fulham's hopes of signing the 25 year old.
The midfielder has only started six games for Porto this season and is seeking regular first-team action ahead of the World Cup.
Defour is one of many talented Belgium players and needs to be playing week in week out to ensure he gets on the plane to Brazil, a guarantee Porto are currently unable to provide.
The 25-year-old joined Porto in 2011 and has made 57 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
Fulham currently sit 17th in the Premier league, one point above the drop zone and Rene Meulensteen will hope he can capture the Belgian playmaker so he can help the side begin to move away from the bottom of the table.
The Belgian would be a good signing for a Fulham who have been lacking goals this season, with Defour able to help them create more opportunities to score.
Defour's representative Paul Stefani refused to rule out the possibility of a January move for his client, admitting that he has had a few proposals from different clubs.
Stefani told talkSPORT: "I've read numerous reports about my client but at the moment there is nothing concrete.
"We have three or four offers on the table that could be evaluated.
"Defour would like to play more, and therefore there may be a transfer. At the end of the season there is the World Cup and he wants to be ready.
"He could also end up in England or in another league. We are waiting for news from Porto, and then we will move accordingly.
"Even if we do not know if Porto intends to sell Defour, I think tomorrow night or the next day there could be important news."
