Defending champion Victoria Azarenka is out of the Australian Open after losing 6-1 5-7 6-0 to Agnieszka Radwanska.

Polish Radwanska came out flying, taking a 5-0 lead over the number two seed in the first set before dropping her first game. She saw out the set in simple fashion to take a 1-0 lead. Azarenka responded, levelling the match but the number five seed was unstoppable in the third and deciding set.

This defeat ends the two-time champion's 18-match winning streak in Melbourne, and means that all three top seeds in women's singles are out after Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova headed home earlier in the week.

Radwanska now heads into her first Australian Open semi-final where she will face Dominika Cibulkova after she overcame Simona Halep in straight sets.

The 20th seed took out Sharapova in the fourth round and totally outclassed 11th seed Halep as she qualified for her second Grand Slam semi-final with the 6-3 6-0 win.
