Manchester United starlet closes in on Cardiff move

Cardiff City are closing in on a deal to sign Manchester United starlet Wilfried Zaha.

The Daily Mail claim former Crystal Palace winger could join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Bluebirds on Thursday, as Zaha has failed to convince David Moyes that he is worthy of a place in Manchester United's first team squad.

Zaha has failed to break into Moyes' plans as the likes of Ashley Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia are ahead of the 21-year-old in the Manchester United pecking order.

Former Eagles star Zaha, who finalised a £15million move to Old Trafford in the summer, has made just three appearances for Manchester United since joining the Premier League champions.

Moyes stated in October that Zaha would be allowed to leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis in January, however he delayed any potential departure until either Young or Nani recovered from injury.

Young returned to action on Sunday in Manchester United's 3-1 defeat against Chelsea, which has allowed Cardiff to make progress in their bid to land Zaha on loan for the remainder of the season.
