Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal claimed this week that he is the most supreme player in his position in world football, so it is little wonder Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of the Chilean.
Vidal has scored 15 goals for the Serie A champions so far this term and is also not afraid to stick his boot in where it hurts, as the stats for Europe's most prominent leagues confirm. This, he says, makes him top dog.
"I am the best player in the world in my position. That's simply the way it is for me," he is reported to have told Sport Bild.
"There are a lot of players out there in my position who try and play just like me and want to copy my style of play."
Manchester United are reported to have made an approach for the 26-year-old as David Moyes strives to bring reinforcements to Old Trafford although, given his importance to Juventus, the Italians would appear unlikely to sanction a sale.
