Video: New Jersey Devils' Eric Gelinas scores ridiculous center ice goal

Already 6-1 down in the third quarter, the St. Louis Blues might have thought their luck couldn't get much worse.

But as this video from NHL.com shows, sometimes fate is just against you.

New Jersey Devils defenseman Eric Gelinas was the beneficiary of some crazy bounces, deflections, and a big slice of luck, as he scored from center ice to put the Devils 7-1 up.

Gelinas attempted to wrap the puck around the end boards, but before it could reach, the shot had deflected off Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.

From there the puck bounced high on the ice toward unsuspecting goalie Jaroslav Halak.

And as you can see in the video, Halak failed to negotiate the swerving puck which eventually found its way into then net via the Slovakian's helmet.

Even now it takes a couple of replays to even figure out just how that just happened.
