When Mesut Ozil arrived at Arsenal at the very end of the summer transfer window, fans were heralding the introduction of a pass-master.

Though not always afforded as much attention as a thunderous 30-yard screamer that finds its way into the top corner or a fantastic save that defies the laws of physics, a good pass is every bit as important and some of the best players in history have forged their trade out of being good at simply moving a football from one area of the pitch to another.

But who reigns supreme when it comes to passing?

The likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso and Andrea Pirlo annually scrap it out for the European crown, but the Premier League is built on a different approach to football and so sometimes it suits players to work on other areas of their game, i.e physical strength, aerial prowess and no-holds barred tackling.

With this season well under way and the goals coming thick and fast, we’ve compiled a list of the most accurate passers in England's elite division so far this term.

Does Ozil live up to his billing as a maestro of moving the ball along?
