Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied he was in Spain yesterday on a scouting mission - and insists he has no interest in Barcelona winger Cristian Tello.
Rumours starting circulating yesterday that the Gunners boss was heading to Spain to scout out potential new recruits after he was spotted at Heathrow airport.
Reports in Spain suggested the Frenchman was taking a look at Barcelona's Christian Tello, who bagged a hat-trick in his side's 4-1 Copa del Rey win over Levante last night.
However, speaking ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup tie against Coventry on Friday, Wenger insisted that he wasn't in Spain, and isn't interested in making a move for the Barcelona star before the close of the transfer window.
When asked if he flew to Spain on a scouting mission yesterday, the Arsenal boss responded: "No, but I was at Heathrow yesterday thats true."
When pushed on his reported interest in Tello, Wenger added: "Unfortunately no, I feel a bit guilty going to a press conference during the transfer market with nobody to announce but I don't want to lie."
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League, but will have their attention on securing their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup tomorrow, having knocked out rivals Tottenham in the 3rd round.
