Manchester United may have endured a turbulent season to date but undoubtedly they can take a small crumb of comfort from knowing that they have one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League; Adnan Januzaj.
The 18-year-old has burst on to the scene this season and taken Old Trafford by storm with a string of fine performances - but sadly he couldn't quite get the job done for the Red Devils last night as they crashed out of the Capital One Cup at the semi-final stage at the hands of Sunderland last night.
The Belgian-born youngster couldn't convert his penalty as Manchester United fell at the final hurdle.
That got us thinking. While of course, Janzuaj has been superb this season, has he really been as good as everyone says? Have the pundits just got a bit carried away amidst the gloom at Old Trafford?
We decided to investigate, and in the process come up with a list of the best performing young players in the Premier League this season.
Note: Only players under the age of 23 have been counted, and the players' performances have been quantified by their WhoScored match rating.
