New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony launched a scathing attack at a Philadelphia 76ers fan, according to the New York Post.
The Knicks lost their fifth consecutive game against the 76ers which resulted in Anthony losing his rag.
Anthony is said to have told a Philly fan to 'f*** off' during the Knicks' encounter at Madison Square Garden.
The fan took to Twitter to reveal what happened between himself and Anthony.
After the aforementioned fan said: “Nice defense, Melo.” Anthony replied: “Go f— yourself."
After the game, the same fan wrote on Twitter: “Carmelo told me to F off. Huge Philly fan and I got in his head.”
Anthony responded to criticism after the game, which the Knicks lost 110-106, by admitting he has learnt to deal with heckling from the Madison Square Garden crowd.
Speaking to the New York Daily Post, Anthony said: “I’m dealing with it. It’s not something I’ve dealt with before, and I’m going through this experience and I’m learning from it.
"As a team, we got to stick together and not let anything come between us."
Anthony and the Knicks will be hoping they can address their current poor run of form when they take on the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night in their fourth successive home game.
