The agent of Manchester United and Chelsea target Alberto Moreno has revealed his client was flattered by interest from Napoli, who had a £9.8million bid for the defender turned down, according to talkSPORT.
Rafa Benitez is understood to be keen to bring the 21-year-old to Stadio San Paolo this month, as he looks to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.
Red Devils boss David Moyes has also been credited with an interest in bringing the talented young left-back to Old Trafford, as he continues his search for a long-term successor for Patrice Evra.
Jose Mourinho is also on the lookout for a replacement for Ashley Cole at Stamford Bridge, having already dropped the Chelsea veteran from his first-team, in favour of playing right-back Cesar Azpilicueta on the left side of defence.
However, it looks like both Chelsea and Manchester United face an uphill struggle to secure Moreno's signature, after his representative spoke of the pride felt following Napoli's offer, whilst also intimating his contentment at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
"Napoli have made an offer," confirmed the Spaniard's agent in an interview with Tuttonapoli.net. "I presented it to Seville on Monday, but it was not considered sufficient.
"Moreno is an important player for Sevilla and it is not easy to deprive them of him in January.
"In the instance that Napoli produce a proposal far superior to the previous one they may speak again, but at the moment this is not yet planned."
He added: "[Rafa] Benitez definitely likes Moreno, but the player is very happy in Sevilla. However, there is always great pride at the interest of such an important club, there is no doubt about that."
