Arsenal are battling with Portuguese outfit Benfica for the signature of Nigerian youngsters Musa Yahaya and Chidera Ezeh, their agent has confirmed.
Both Yahaya and Ezeh starred for Nigeria in the Under-17 World Cup last summer, going on to win the tournament.
Yahaya, 16, struck four times from the left-wing during the tournament showcasing his talents in front of numerous scouts.
Meanwhile Ezeh, who was used as a striker during the tournament, scored just one, but still did enough to convince Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on his ability.
It has now been confirmed by the players' agent, Ken Van Deyck, that Arsenal are one of two clubs in the running to sign the players.
“We are finalising a deal with Arsenal and Benfica, who I am talking to as exclusive European representative for both players” he told talkSPORT.
The Gunners have a history of blooding young talent through their famous youth academy.
Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs currently enjoy an important first team role after coming through the ranks at London Colney.
