Burke became only the second player in Jazz history to win NBA rookie of the month when he received the Western conference award for his performances during December 2013.
The diminutive Burke has hit 13.5 ppg this season; form that brings with it increased pressure.
Pressure which will not be eased when people like Doc Rivers are touting you for big things.
The current Clippers head coach said recently:
“There are guards who can score. There are guards who are just playmakers.
“Then there is that rare group that can do both. Chris (Paul) is one of those guys…I think Trey Burke is going to be that.”
It is no coincidence that since Burke returned from injury in late-November the Jazz has recorded 13 of it’s 14 victories having lost 11 of the opening 12.
