Manchester United fan switches allegiance to Liverpool

Fickle football fans are the worst, aren't they? Take this Manchester United supporter who, at the first sign of the Premier League champions' diminishing dominance, has opted to switch allegiances by declaring his support for arch-rivals Liverpool.

Wednesday night's Capital One Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Sunderland looks to have been the final straw for this Red Devils rogue, prompting him to post an open letter online, in an attempt to justify his decision to jump ship.

There's no denying that David Moyes has endured a difficult start to life in the Old Trafford hot-seat, but that's still no excuse for anyone to throw in the towel, and tag along to the success of another team.

Liverpool are enjoying something of a renascence under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers, and for the first time in many a year are in a stronger position than Manchester United when it comes to the Premier League title race, thanks in no small part to the prolific form of Anfield hero Luis Suarez.

This 'fan' in question, who goes by the name of Peter - and can be seen in his profile picture posing in a Reds shirt - claims he is merely 'rejoining' Liverpool, having supported the Merseyside club when he was a boy.

Surely that poses a question in itself - what was Peter doing following Manchester United during their brighter years anyway?

It's clear that this individual is nothing more than a glory supporter, who chops and changes as frequently as the weather.

Share your thoughts on Peter's flippancy when it comes to football in the comment box provided!
