Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has caught the attention of Atletico Madrid and the La Liga giants are ready to make their interest concrete with a €15m bid before the transfer window closes, according to Marca's Friday transfer blog.
Kagawa has struggled to stamp his authority on United's starting XI this season, restricted to nine Premier League appearances and just seven starts.
The 24-year-old is set to move further down the pecking order if United complete a muted club-record £37m swoop for Juan Mata this week, with Atletico primed to take advantage in a bid to boost their title charge.
Marca's transfer blog reported at 9.50am on Friday morning that Atletico have identified Kagawa as a viable target, but believe United will ask for at least €15m and would rather keep the Japanese international than budge on that valuation.
United are braced from interest in Kagawa and not just from Atletico boss Diego Simeone, with Dortmund chief Jurgen Klopp also believed to be monitoring the situation closely with a view to resigning a player still highly thought of in the Bundesliga.
