Blackburn winger Fabio Nunes has signed for Italian side Latina Calcio on a free transfer, reports the club's official site.

The 21-year-old joins the Serie B side after making just eight appearances in his 18-months at Rovers.

Nunes joined Blackburn in July 2012 making his first team debut a month later in the Championship game against Hull.

The Portugal international previously had unsuccessful trials at CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian football league before spending a large part of the 2011-12 season at Italian Serie A side Parma.

He has made just one appearance for Blackburn this season, coming on as a second half substitute in Rover's 5-2 win over Barnsley back in August.

He joins Latina in 11th position in the Serie A table 10 points adrift of leaders Palermo but 12 points clear of the relegation zone.

Rovers will now turn their attention to tomorrow's Championship clash with Derby County.
