Juan Mata's proposed move to Manchester United may of been confirmed a little earlier than it was meant to courtesy of Manchester United's American sponsor and car producer Chevrolet.

Chevrolet's official football or soccer Twitter page (@ChevroletFC) came up with the news some time around 7.00pm GMT on Thursday however they backtracked at around 11pm GMT stating they got a little too excited ahead of Mata's move from Chelsea to Manchester United.

Although it looks certain David Moyes will confirm the capture of Juan Mata some time during Friday, Chevrolet may have slipped the news we all expected a little too early for Manchester United's liking with official confirmation not yet made. United officials may have a quiet word with their new shirt sponsors for next season.

It's also been rumoured that Manchester United may move for Aturo Vidal, Hernanes or Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye after Michael Carrick was sidelined for around a month during Wednesday night's Capital One Cup semi final clash with Sunderland.

It's thought Moyes could bring in another midfielder with Mata, with the three above just a few on the club's list. Moyes may also bring in a defender before the deadline next week, with Luke Shaw, Ezequiel Garay and Fabio Coentrao all mooted for moves to Old Trafford.
