It was Wednesday January 15 2014 and Nigeria were hosting Mozambique in an African Nations Championship match in Cape Town.

The score was 0-0 and Mozambique were awarded a free-kick in a harmless position just to the left of the centre-circle in the ninth minute. Up stepped big centre-back and captain Dario Khan, with everyone expecting the ball to be played simply or punted into the box.

Having never scored an international goal before, the Costa Do Sol player noticed the 'keeper slightly off his line and took it upon himself to have a punt. And it couldn't have gone any better!

He struck the ball in hope, but it left his boot like an arrow and headed to the top corner. Granted, the keeper should have done better, but you can't take anything away from the lad.

Now, sit back and marvel and watch the video above.
