Juan Mata's close friend and celebrity hair stylist Leo Bancroft has pretty much confirmed the inevitable regarding the Chelsea playmaker's future.

Bancroft, who has been pictured with Mata in the past, sent the midfielder a good luck message in preparation for the Spaniard's move to Old Trafford.

Chelsea fan Bancroft took to social networking websites Instagram and Twitter to send his congratulations to Mata.

Bancroft wrote on his official Instagram account: "My good friend Juan Mata joined Manchester United today. I am very happy for him. #happy #topman."

He also sent a tweet to Mata saying: "Does this mean I have to travel all the way to Manchester to see you.... Ffs! #moving #legend."

Mata is expected to complete his £37million move to Manchester United this weekend.

Reports had initially claimed Mata would officially join the Premier League champions by Friday afternoon, however Chelsea want to tie up a deal for Mohamed Salah before giving Manchester United the green light to conclude the proposed deal.

Mata is expected to make his Manchester United debut in the Premier League against Cardiff City on Tuesday.

Red Devils boss David Moyes will be hoping Mata can give his side a much-needed boost ahead of their Premier League encounter against the Bluebirds.
