Jose Mourinho has hinted that Chelsea are in talks over the possible signing of exciting young star Kurt Zouma.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues boss is keen on the Saint Etienne starlet and gave an indication that discussions were under way when asked about whether he was going to make a move in the January transfer window.
"As you can see Chelsea thinks about the future and when we think about the future we have scouts and contacts," he is quoted as saying when quizzed over Zouma.
"We contact clubs, we contact agents and players when we have permission from clubs to do it which is the case obviously."
Chelsea will have some spending leeway with regards to new Financial Fairplay Rules after the sale of Juan Mata to Manchester United - the reported £37million sale is expected to go through very soon.
A move for Zouma could be linked with further reports that Stamford Bridge captain John Terry is set to depart the club come the summer, as will not be offered a new contract.
Zouma is a very highly-rated talent and has already been called up to the France national team, though he has yet to receive his first cap.
The 19-year-old has only just returned from a 10-game ban he was handed after receiving a red card for a challenge that broke the leg of Sochaux midfielder Thomas Guerbert.
