Sergio Aguero has reiterated Manchester City’s stratospheric ambitions by saying that he is determined to help his side to win on all four fronts this season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the Argentinian said, “The important thing is the goals contribute to the team's victory, the team wins and we win titles.”
The player’s comments came after City overcame a two goal deficit to win 4-2 against Watford in the FA Cup on Saturday.
“I don't have any specific goals to reach - but as many as possible,” continued Aguero.
The player is City’s second highest scorer with 25 goals in all competitions, one behind teammate Alvaro Negredo.
The player alluded to the need to outscore their Championship opponents on Saturday, "we weren't expecting to score four goals,” he said. “We knew at half-time we needed to improve and in the end, we won and we have made it to the next round. We are happy with that.”
"In the first half, they played really well and put a lot of pressure on us but in the second half, we made fewer mistakes and we were able to get the goals. It is good we were able to come back."
Aguero will be wanting to re-establish himself as City’s undisputed number one striker by usurping Negredo at the top of the scoring list.
However, he will be equally delighted at the competition that undoubtedly makes him work harder to score more goals.
One player who has not hit similar levels of success this season is Stevan Jovetic. The player has only scored two goals so far this season, and they came against Wigan in the Capital One Cup.
The player has suffered from a number of injuries and will now be hoping to catch up with his colleagues.
