Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Chelsea target Kurt Zouma.

The Daily Mail claim Manchester United are no longer interested in signing the Saint-Etienne defender - which has improved Chelsea's chances of enticing Zouma to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United were said to have made an enquiry for the 19-year-old centre-back but have since cooled their interest in the Frenchman.

Zouma, who is said to be valued at £12million, admitted at the start of the month that he had held discussions with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho regarding the possibility of moving to the west London outfit.

The teenager has been out of action since January 17 as he was banned for 10 games for breaking an opponent's leg.

Zouma was pencilled in to return to action against Bordeaux at the weekend but pulled out due to illness.

Chelsea are said to be looking to agree terms with Saint-Etienne in the next couple of weeks - with the starlet expected to leave Stade Geoffroy-Guichard for Stamford Bridge in the summer.
