Seattle Seahawks have gone from the team that famously made the play-offs with a losing record three years ago to the team dominating the NFC, with Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor playing a huge role.
The Seahawks safeties are so dominant in the NFL now that they are feared across the league, and they will be key to Seattle's hopes of beating Denver in the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Speaking to the press, Seahawks' Thomas admitted that the duo came into the NFL with the aim of changing Seattle's fortunes for the better, and he revealed that communication between him Chancellor has been the key to that success.
"I think me and Kam [Chancellor] have done great. I believe we are the best tandem in the league," Thomas told NFL.com
"It's because of that chemistry and connection that we have on the field. I think it all started when I opened up and realised he was just as good as me.
"When you really open up to guys and let them into your world, good stuff like that happens.
"We always said we wanted to change Seattle. We came in as young competitors and probably dumb. But at the same time we knew we could make everything change, and it's definitely worked out for us."
Both Thomas and Chancellor entered the NFL through the Draft in 2010, and since then they they have taken the league by storm.
If they win Sunday, it certainly won't the end of their success, these guys will be around for a long-time yet.
The key for Seattle is to keep a hold of these great players when all is said and done Sunday.
The build-up to the Super Bowl has been an exciting time for me, and I feel like I'm learning more as a player. It's been a humbling experience.
"I wake up in the morning feeling happy for the opportunity that's coming up.
