Chelsea pulled off a significant transfer coup when they snapped up Belgian teenage powerhouse Romelu Lukaku, but the then 18-year-old has still failed to earn a sustained first-team opportunity at Stamford Bridge despite his considerable talent.

Lukaku scored 17 Premier League goals in a full campaign with West Bromwich Albion last term and has continued to deliver the goods at Everton on loan this season, with nine goals in 18 games surely enough to convince Jose Mourinho the target man deserves a chance next year.
