Why Queen Latifah's Super Bowl performance could be bad luck for Manning

Published Add your comment

Queen Latifah will perform 'America the Beautiful' before the start of the Super Bowl this Sunday in New Jersey, it has been announced.

The New Jersey native will join Bruno Mars, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Renee Fleming as confirmed performers at the Super Bowl, to be held this weekend at Metlife Stadium.

Queen Latifah sang the patriotic song at the Super Bowl in 2010 at Sun Life Stadium in Florida. On that occasion, Peyton Manning, then with the Indianapolis Colts lost to the New Orleans Saints 31-17.

Manning will be hoping that the entertainment icon's performance will not be a sign of bad fortune as he prepares to face off against the Seattle Seahawks defense.

Renee Fleming will perform the national anthem prior to kickoff whilst Bruno Mars and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers will provide the entertainment at the Pepsi half-time show.

Amber Zion will provide sign language assistance for both the national anthem and Queen Latifah's performance.
