Tottenham Hotspur can hope for a win against the strong side Manchester City after Jan Vertonghen and Paulinho trained with the first team yesterday.

Both players were pictured in yesterday's first team training in images posted on Tottenham's official Twitter feed.

The return of both Vertonghen and Paulinho is a massive boost for the upcoming game against Machester City, and both players still have one week to be fully fit.

Tim Sherwood has done very well as Tottenham’s head coach so far, with five wins and one draw.

He can prepare a strong squad with the expecting return on the pitch of Jan Vertonghen; Mousa Dembele; Paulinho and Sandro for next Wednesday's game against Man City.

Tottenham defender Vertonghen missed the entire Christmas period after having picked an ankle injury during the 2-1 victory against Fulham last month, and Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has been out since the 3-1 victory against Stoke City.

Spurs’ manager Sherwood brought Nabil Bentaleb from the Tottenham's Academy to compensate the lack of midfielders, and has played very well so far.

The massive return of Emmanuel Adebayor gave Tottenham a huge boost.

The North London club is back in the top four difficult race.

Tottenham stand in fifth position in the league table just behind Liverpool on goal difference with 43 points.
