Even though tomorrow is the Super Bowl Media Day, today was still a busy day for Broncos' wide-receiver Demaryius Thomas who told reporters that he feels Seahawks' Earl Thomas is the best safety in the NFL.
Denver's top WR is preparing for Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday as Seattle face Denver in New York, and he remained calm under a barrage of questions Monday.
Earlier today Seahawks' cornerback Richard Sherman labelled the Broncos' Thomas a top five WR, and the big wide-out responded in kind, but he saved the number one talk for Earl.
"I think Earl Thomas is the best in the league at safety. He's always around the ball, and he's always coming up and making tackles. You really don't see him making any mistakes," Thomas told NFL.com.
"I respect what he [Sherman] said, coming from him, he's one of the best in the league. He's more often than not in the right place at the right time, so he must study a lot."
Thomas added that him and Sherman are good friends.
"We are friends, I've meet Richard Sherman a couple of times in the off-season as we were in a Nike camp together in Oregon," he continued.
"We did some stuff in LA together, I meet him there a couple of times. I see some of the stuff he says and I laugh, like the last game. That's Sherman."
Meanwhile, Thomas also praised the Wes Welker effect on the Broncos locker room this season, as he revealed his influence in Denver.
"The first day Wes Welker came in I just took notice of what he was doing. I noticed he was working hard and the main thing that helped me was being in the meeting room with him.
"He has helped all our receivers with understanding opposition coverages, so we can go out and play fast."
