David Moyes must act quickly to snap up Luke Shaw from Southampton to avoid Chelsea gaining him as a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole.
The imminent sale of Fabio Da Silva, the ageing of Patrice Evra and the nonperforming Alexander Büttner mean that the Southampton left-back Luke Shaw is a must buy for David Moyes in order to continue the revitalisation of Manchester United's problematic squad.
Luke Shaw is seen as a perfect replacement. At 18-years-old, he is destined for an England spot in the long term and has already out in numerous impressive shifts for Southampton this season.
This coupled with Leighton Baines signing a new contract, Moyes can gain two positives in signing Shaw - sorting out the final piece of the defensive puzzle for United's defence and halting Chelsea's similar mission to replace an ageing left-back with a natural replacement.
Moyes can avoid further price-inflation by signing in January and also have Shaw settled well before the start of next season.
However it remains to be seen as to whether the Red Devils boss can pull off what would be another major coup for the Premier League champions.
