Floyd Mayweather would 'get murdered in the UFC' - White

American boxer Floyd 'Money' Mayweather is the biggest name in world boxing and one of the most recognisable and talented sport stars on the planet.

But while the 36-year-old unbeaten fighter has conquered all before him in the ring in his career to date, it appears that Dana White would not have an iota of faith in Mayweather if he were ever to cross the divide from boxing into the utterly brutal world of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

In fact, UFC president White evidently believes that Mayweather would be in serious trouble physically were he ever to try his hand at the sport.

“He’d get murdered in the UFC,” White said of Mayweather Jr. in an interview with Arsenio Hall that was quoted by Fox Sports.

“You go to a knife fight with a guy and the other guy has guns and  chains and crowbars. There’s so many more weapons in the UFC then there are in boxing. So it makes no sense.”

Rather than simply attempting to mock or downplay Mayweather's physical attributes and abilities, however, White appeared to be attempting to challenge and indeed perhaps even ridicule the notion of boxers and UFC fighters being able to 'crossover' into each other's sports successfully.

Mayweather, who boasts a record of 45 wins from 45 professional fights including 26 by way of knockout, last took to the ring for a comfortable victory over Mexican Saul Alvarez back in September and reports have suggested that he will sign his end of the deal to secure a May fight with Britain's Amir Khan soon.
