Chelsea will make a move for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic if they lose Thibaut Courtois in the summer, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.
Recent reports suggest that Courtois is happy to stay at Atlético Madrid, where he has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan.
The 21-year-old Belgium international is widely regarded as one of the world's best young goalkeepers, but he has yet to make a single appearance for Chelsea despite signing for the west London outfit in 2011.
On Monday, it was reported that Chelsea may use Courtois as part of a swap-deal to sign Atlético striker Diego Costa.
And, if that deal goes through in the summer, Jose Mourinho will make a move to bring Begovic to Stamford Bridge as cover for Petr Cech.
Record claim that Begovic, 26, is currently valued at around €10m – while his current Stoke City contract expires in 2016.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United last summer; however, David Moyes opted to stick with Anders Lindegaard as his back-up goalkeeper.
