Bolton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion could soon be in talks about the services of England under-21 international Craig Dawson, according to Bolton News

Dawson became an integral part of Dougie Freedman's side at the same time last season, when then manager Steve Clarke let him join the Championship outfit on loan.

A lot has changed since then, Bolton have been leaking goals in the Championship, Steve Clarke has left the Hawthorns and Dawson's immediate future is unclear.

New manager Pepe Mel has reiterated that Dawson is part of the clubs long-term plans by telling reporters: "He's an excellent centre-back, he's a young player and he has a big future for us."

The Spaniard also commented on the fact it wasn't just Bolton interested in the defender, who also represented Great Britain at the London Olympics:

He added: "All of the clubs in the Championship want Craig Dawson."
