Liverpool could make swap deal with Napoli

Napoli manager Rafa Benitez looks set to raid his old club Liverpool for Danish international Daniel Agger, with Gokhan Inler set to move the other way, according to the Metro.

Both players have struggled to settle into their respective clubs this season due to patchy form, and, in Agger's case, injury.

With the additions of Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure and Tiago Illori in the last six months, Agger is seen to be surplus to requirements by some. Furthermore, it is thought that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is also looking to strengthen his midfield so the deal could work well for all parties.

On top of the Agger rumours it's also claimed that Rodgers is open to the idea of allowing young defender Sebastian Coates to leave the club on loan, even possibly to the Championship or back to South America with the World Cup fast approaching.

It remains to be seen whether or not Liverpool will make any inroads in this particular transfer window but, having missed out on Mohamed Salah to Chelsea, Rodgers is likely to want to bolster his team in order to secure a Champions League spot for next year.
