While the January transfer window is often a time for managers to sufficiently improve their respective squads ahead of the final few months of a typically tough season, it can also act as a valuable means of escape for those who might be out of favour or struggling.
The winter window is often mocked and lambasted for its habit of making a number of managers seemingly take leave of all rational thought and lavish exorbitant sums of cash on seemingly mediocre and sub-standard players in the mad and frantic scramble for short-term glory.
Juan Mata's move from Chelsea to Manchester United aside, this particular January window is yet to spark into life in the way that it has done frequently over the past few seasons.
But while many wait for those remaining 'big' deals to come to pass, what about those players who, for whatever reason, might not be flourishing with their present employers and could perhaps do with a change of scenery and a fresh start?
With just days remaining until the end of the window, here GMS has decided to pick seven current Premier League players who could do with a move between now and the deadline. We are certainly suggesting that they should leave the league full stop, just away from their current clubs.
Take a look at our selections and don't forget to let us know your thoughts in the comment box provided below.
Which of these players do you also believe should seek a move between now and Friday night? Do you see any of them realistically being sold?
Perhaps you disagree with one of our choices or can think of other players more in need of a transfer?
