David Luiz could be heading out of Stamford Bridge.

Bayern Munich will renew their interest in Chelsea defender David Luiz during the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen his defensive options at the end of the season and the 26-year-old is said to be at the top of the Bayern Munich manager's transfer wish list.

Reports suggest Guardiola had been weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian defender Thaigo Silva - but has now decided against trying to tempt him away from the Ligue 1 moneybags.

The former Barcelona boss is instead keen on bringing Chelsea star Luiz to the Allianz Arena before the start of next season.

Guardiola likes the fact that Luiz, who is valued at £35million, can play at the back or as a deep-lying midfielder.

The Bayern chief wants to pair Manchester United target Dante with fellow Brazilian international Luiz next season, as he is looking to freshen up his first-team squad.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may be willing to let former Benfica star David Luiz depart Stamford Bridge in the summer as he has doubts over the Brazilian's defensive capabilities and is said to be closing in on a deal to sign Kurt Zouma.
