Elliot Grandin was signed on a free transfer by former Eagles boss Ian Holloway in the summer having worked with him during his time as Blackpool manager.

But the Frenchman made only one appearance for the Eagles - in a 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat to Bristol City in August.

Crystal Palace confirmed in a statement on their official website this morning that the 26-year-old had left the club by mutual consent.

"Crystal Palace Football Club can today confirm that Elliot Grandin has left the club by mutual consent," the statement read.

"Crystal Palace would like to thank Elliot for his services to the club and we wish him all the best for his future career."

Grandin’s departure frees up a space in the squad as Tony Pulis looks to shake up the team he inherited following Holloway’s departure earlier in the season.

The writing looks to be on the wall too for another winger after Jimmy Kebe was loaned out to Championship side Leeds United until the end of the season, with Pulis seemingly unimpressed with the wide-man, despite him only arriving at the south London club in September.
