Kevin Durant has spoken about his former rival, number one draft pick Greg Oden.
Surprisingly however, Durant who was selected with the second pick in 2007 had only nice things to say about the Miami Heat center.
“I'm happy for Greg, man,” Durant said. “It's just been so tough for him the last few years with injuries. No doubt in my mind he would have been a dominant center in this league if he didn't get hurt."
Oden has suffered from a number of injuries since being drafted by Portland with the first pick in 2007. He made the last of his returns to the NBA this season with the Heat and has so far averaged three points and two rebounds a game. Oden has averaged eight minutes per game since his return.
Whilst Oden suffered with injury, Durant has flourished in the NBA averaging 27 points per game and the winning rookie of the year award.
Durant, who is the favorite to win the MVP award this season will meet Oden's Heat tonight in a marquee matchup where he will also face LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
The game will be a repeat of the 2012 NBA Finals series where the Heat won comfortably in five games.
