Move over Clark Kent. Step aside Batman. America has a new hero.

And he doesn't wear y-fronts over his outfit either.

His name is Chipper Jones, the ex-Atlanta Braves third baseman.

When Jones saw that his former teammate, and current Braves player, Freddie Freeman was stranded in Atlanta courtesy of the unexpected snowstorm currently bringing the city to a standstill,he donned his camo gear, hopped on his ATV and set off into the night.

Announcing the decision via Twitter, Jones made sure Freeman knew he was on his way:

"It's really cold on the streets of Roswell and crabapple on a 4 wheeler! But my boy @FreddieFreeman5 was stranded. I Got you!"

And like all good heros Jones saved the day, bringing Freeman back to his home after being stuck in the snow for over five hours.

Freeman it seems, will be eternally grateful:

"Thank goodness for @RealCJ10! He saved me on a 4 wheeler!

"A moment I'll never forget," he tweeted to his followers.

With the snow storm continuing we can expect Jones to be back out tonight protecting the good people of Atlanta.
