A college athlete was caught drinking, well there's a first.
Ohio State freshman Marcus Baugh has been cited for underage drinking for the second time in just over six months, and is likely to be suspended from the team.
Baugh was cited on Friday on West 5th Avenue near Dennison Avenue near campus. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Franklin County Municipal Court. The charge is a misdemeanour with a maximum fine of $1,000 and maximum jail time of six months.
What led to the misdemeanour itself has not been noted but it has ended up with Baugh being in trouble again and only just getting back into the coaches good books after his previous improper conduct.
That citation in July ended up with the youngster being banned for the first Buckeyes game of the season but Baugh ultimately redshirted his freshman season.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, an OSU source said that he believes it’s highly likely that Baugh will be suspended again. Typically, a second infraction carries a penalty of at least two games.
