Manchester City are poised to bring in Manchester United targets Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando before the end of this transfer window, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Porto pair, who have both been linked with moves to Old Trafford frequently over the last few weeks, are believed to have been targeted by Manuel Pellegrini as he looks to make a late bid in order to strengthen his squad.
Citing more than one source, the Manchester Evening news claims that City may have not only tabled a mouth-watering £38million bid for Mangala, but could also be close to securing a deal for the £7m-rated Fernando.
Only last night did reports suggest that nearby rivals United had failed with an enquiry for the latter of those two, whilst they have been named in connection with Mangala on and off for a good few months now.
If the speculation is to be believed then City could well deal a blow to their nearest title rivals before tomorrow night, with Chelsea rumoured to be interested in Mangala as well.
