Denver Broncos quarterback Payton Manning dodged the question as well as any pass rushers - he wasn't going to be drawn into a war of words with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Sherman courted plenty of attention - both positive and negative - for his post-match comments about Michael Crabtree following the NFC Championship game a few weeks back.
Now the Seahawks star has set his sights on another target, Manning, saying that he throws plenty of wobbly, under-baked 'duck' passes.
Sherman reiterated his comments when speaking to the media earlier today.
He said: "I still feel the same way I felt. He's a great quarterback, he does a great job. But at the same time, when he catches the ball, he doesn't necessarily catch the laces all the time.
“But he throws an accurate ball, regardless of how he catches it, how he gets it – he delivers it on time and accurately."
Manning, who is gunning for his second Superbowl ring when he leads the Broncos out onto the field against the Seahawks at the Metlife Stadium on Sunday, wasn't rising to the bait.
"I believe it to be true as well,” said the Broncos star to laughter. “I don’t think that’s a real reach what he’s saying. I’ve thrown a lot of yards and touchdowns with ducks. I’m actually quite proud of it.”
Manning, fielding questions from the media, gave a particularly interesting answer when he was asked to name his three favourite quarterbacks ever.
"I don’t have a list,” he revealed. “I’ve always kind of talked about [what] I feel … could describe the perfect quarterback. Take a little piece of everybody. Take John Elway’s arm, Dan Marino’s release, Troy Aikman’s drop-back, Brett Favre’s scrambling ability, Joe Montana’s two-minute poise.”
He added, tongue in cheek: "Naturally, my speed in there too.”
