Manziel won't be in New Jersey on Sunday.

Jonny Manziel to miss the Super Bowl

Jonny Manziel is the hottest prospect in football - there may be more talented players but none carry the same intrigue as the Heisman winner - And the Super Bowl is undoubtedly the biggest event in the game.

So you'd think that these two highly marketable and much vaunted entities would prove to be a money making match made in heaven.

Well you really couldn't be more wrong.

Jonny Football will not be plastered all over New York and New Jersey this weekend. He's not going to be on a TV channel giving his view of the game, he won't be trying to boost his own profile, he isn't even going to be watching the game.

No, in an effort to impress teams that may have concerns about his off-field behaviour, the quarterback will be working out when the game is on and won't sit down to watch a single snap.

With the NFL Draft being the most important event of his life so far, Manziel has elected to head out to San Diego and train with some other fellow prospects rather than make his rounds in front of the press before the Broncos and the Seahawks take the field.

This does show a level of maturity that we haven't really seen from the talented signal caller. Manziel wants to be taken seriously and show just how dedicated to his craft he really is.
