All-Star embarrassment for Chicago Bulls

Published Add your comment

Officials at the Chicago Bulls today had faces as red as their logos as they tried to explain their faux pas away.

Early on Thursday, a short 16-second video appeared briefly on the team's YouTube channel. The video included images of Joakim Noah yelling and beating his chest along with the caption: "Congratulations Joakim. 2x All-Star."

The problem? All-Star reserves aren't announced until later on Thursday. So did the team get confused, or was there a leak?

According to the Chicago Tribune: "A Bulls official said the video merely was being prepped in case Noah makes the team — and that the Bulls will not find out until Thursday."

Noah of course, should be mentioned as a reserve when the announcement is made later today. Since the Luol Deng trade, he has kept the struggling Bulls going and is by far the teams best active player.

Chris Bosh and Roy Hibbert are expected to be the other big men selected as reserves for the East.

The All-Star reserves will be announced on TNT at 7PM ET tonight.
