David Luiz is edging ever closer to an exit from Chelsea, as the Blues move within touching distance of signing St. Etienne starlet Kurt Zouma, according to the Standard.
The paper claims that the Brazilian centre-back’s position at the club will be put into jeopardy following the arrival of the 19-year-old, who is reportedly arriving in west London for a fee of around £12.4million.
Luiz’s time at Stamford Bridge has been largely indifferent to date, but it appears now that Jose Mourinho no longer regards him as a first choice starter in his team, opting instead for the pairing of John Terry and Gary Cahill during last night’s 0-0 draw with West Ham.
As such it looks set in stone that the 26-year-old will be departing the Blues at some point in the near future, particularly given Barcelona’s rumoured interest.
It’s thought that the Spanish champions want to bring Luiz, who is currently rated at £30million, and will fight with Bayern Munich in order to bring him to the Nou Camp.
