Brooklyn Nets eyeing eventual deal for Kevin Durant?

The Brooklyn Nets are interested in the idea of bringing in MVP hopeful Kevin Durant, according to sources in the U.S.

Journalist Stefan Bondy, who covers the news for Nets for the New York Daily News, claims that the Nets will be pursuing the Oklahoma City Thunder star as soon as he becomes a free agent, perhaps even sooner.

He said: “The impending Durant free agency bonanza should start picking up steam next season and will undoubtedly engulf the NBA in the summer of 2016. And make no mistake: the Nets are targeting Durant, the 25-year-old offensive juggernaut, even if it’s too early to predict their odds.”

Durant, who is in the form of his life currently, scored another 33 points last night during his team’s victory over the LeBron James’ led Miami Heat, and it’s looking increasingly like he could run away with this year’s MVP accolade if he can continue with his excellent performances.

However Bondy believes that Durant may want out of the Thunder before his current contract ends in 2016 due to issues with tax.

With the Nets in a far bigger market than his current franchise, the forward may be tempted to make the switch before too long, particularly as it’s his name now dominating the NBA.
