LA Kings will be hoping to get out of a rut that could well derail their season completely.
The Californian side have lost six of their last seven NHL games, and they are in danger of dropping to as low as fifth in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.
Pittsburgh travel into town tonight as a team having a great season as they lead the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference, with Kings forward Justin Williams wary of what his side have to do.
“We’re just not quite there right now, and we’re going through a funk, and we need to get out of it,” forward Justin Williams told reporters Tuesday night.
It's certainly easier said than done to simply turning around form that is seemingly crumbling the organisation.
Despite winning five of seven, the Penguins went down to disappointing defeats to the Stars and Panthers in the past week. The Penguins bounced back with a 3-0 over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.
"I'm never going to look at a game, Florida and/or Dallas and say, 'Chalk it up,'" coach Dan Bylsma said. "You can look at a lot of different things … the standings, the points and the gap and traveling from Long Island to Dallas. Sometimes that happens in the course of a season where you look at that and we didn't play well; we didn't play well in Dallas.
"We got back home here and came out on the better side of the game and played the right way."
