Manchester City are prepared to offload Javi Garcia - in order to make way for two new players - in the shape of Porto's Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Garcia will specifically be apart of the Fernando deal, which will also include the fee of £8.2million.
Fernando has five months to run on his contract in Portugal and has been given permission to speak to other clubs, however, it seems that City are ready to spend to push the transfer through tonight.
Garcia has struggled to establish a regular first team place in Manchester, and with the arrival of Fernando - who has the nickname 'The Octopus' - he will find himself even further down the pecking order.
The Mangala deal is looking less likely at this stage, with City unwilling to pay for the £35m release fee in his contract, but instead will offer roughly £35m for both the players, reports the Daily Mail.
